EST 2027
As artificial intelligence, robotics, digital platforms, and intelligent systems become deeply embedded in workplaces, healthcare, transportation, education, manufacturing, and everyday life, human factors and ergonomics must move beyond usability and safety alone. The next challenge is to understand how humans build, calibrate, question, and sometimes withdraw trust when collaborating with AI-enabled systems. Under the theme of “Crossing Trust Thresholds,” this conference invites researchers, practitioners, designers, engineers, policymakers, and industry leaders to examine how ergonomic knowledge can support responsible Human-AI collaboration, trustworthy automation, ethical governance, and resilient socio-technical systems in the era of hybrid intelligence.
Thus, we welcome theoretical, empirical, methodological, and applied contributions addressing human capabilities, limitations, trust, workload, risk perception, decision-making, interaction design, system governance, organizational implementation, and societal impact in Human-AI collaboration and broader human factors and ergonomics research.
